SEAFAIR: Socially Engaged Art Fair took place on 16th October - hosted by Sally Lemsford and myself. A day where artists, curators and producers were brought together to discuss Socially Engaged practice, their frustrations and the challenges we all face.
Part of the day was a section of activities for attendees including a ‘Kitchen Konfessional’ a suggestions box and a ‘Minifesto’.
Minifesto for this we asked attendees to use words & phrases available to create a ransom note detailing their demands. We prompted questions such as: What should happen next? What do you need? What processes and structures in the arts do you want to change?
